Wednesday, 5/27 games are ON

Though it rained earlier, as of 3:30 the skies are gloomy but dry, so tonight's games:
  • Cousineau v. Schrager
  • Foley v. Young
are still ON.

Any update will be posted by 4:30 at the latest, but unless things change, please head to the fields and get the games in.

If for some reason the games can not be completed, let me know as quickly as possible so a field and umpires can be scheduled for a make-up game.

Thanks,

- Rob

Tuesday, 5/5 Game Status

The decision regarding tonight's games has been given to the individual coaches involved, so that they can make the best decision for their teams.

Niss/Lyons has been cancelled, and will be made up Friday, 5/8 at 6:00 PM on Remington 2.

Leland/Inglesi: TBD

Decision on Tuesday, 5/5 Games is Pending

I know it's been raining on and off most of the day, but the view out my window in Watertown is often different from what people in Franklin are seeing. I've asked someone to take a look at the field conditions at Remington and give me their opinion; once I have that, I'll make an informed decision about tonight's games.

As of 2:30 PM, tonight's games:
  • Inglesi vs Leland
  • Lyons vs Niss

are still ON. Watch for an update/final decision by 4:00.

Rainout/Rescheduling Policy

From the FGSA website:

2009 FGSA Rainout/Game Rescheduling Policy

All decisions regarding whether to call games because of rain are the responsibility of the individual Divisional directors. All Divisional game cancellations and game rescheduling will be posted at this site as early as possible or at a minimum of one hour before game time.

If rain is imminent on the day that a game is scheduled, check for important information at this site.

Since the Instructional and Intermediate divisions do not maintain standings, games will be made up at the discretion of the Divisional director based on field availability. If extended periods of rain result in multiple game cancellations, games may not always be rescheduled for make ups.
Having said that, it is my intention to find some way to play every game on the schedule this season; as long as the girls want to play, I want to find a way to make that happen, though it will certainly require some flexibility on the part of the coaches and parents.

While it can be difficult to rely on forecasts and predictions to make decisions too far in advance, I'll do my best to provide as much notice as possible, and always an hour or more before the game is scheduled to start. When games are canceled, I'll update this blog and notify the affected coaches as quickly as possible once a make-up date has been determined, though sometimes that may take a day or so since the fields are shared resources and multiple divisions will need to make up games.

As always, if there are any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks,

- Rob

Intermediate Games for Wednesday, 6/4 are Cancelled

Tonight's Games:
Team 3 (Croteau) vs. Team 13 (Niss)
Team 8 (Wetherell) vs. Team 14 (Connelly)

have been cancelled due to uncooperative weather conditions. I'll follow up with the dates and times for the makeup games, but I wanted to get this up as quickly as possible to give everyone early notice.

Thanks,

- Rob

Intermediate Games for Tuesday, 5/27 are ON

I've been told by reliable sources that the storms have passed in Franklin and the Pisani fields should have weathered them well, so the two games scheduled for tonight,

  • Niss vs. Jette (Pisani 2) and
  • Foley vs. Levine (Pisani 1)

are both still on.

Good luck teams!
